Inter coach Cristian Chivu is weighing changes in every department for the Champions League visit to Union Saint Gilloise, as the Romanian looks to sustain momentum after the weekend win in Rome and chase a third European victory of the season.

Chivu has embraced rotation to keep his squad fresh during a crowded calendar, and another adjusted Inter side is expected in Belgium. The most eye catching tweak could come up front, where Francesco Pio Esposito is in contention to start alongside Ange Yoan Bonny, who struck the winner at the Olimpico. That would allow captain Lautaro Martinez to be managed after his international exertions and an hour on Saturday.
Changes are also being considered in midfield and defence. Luka Sucic and Davide Frattesi are pushing to start. Resting vice captain Nicolo Barella would be a major call, so the alternative under review is to give Hakan Calhanoglu a breather and deploy Barella in a deeper role. At the back, Stefan de Vrij could come in for Francesco Acerbi, while Carlos Augusto is an option on the left with Alessandro Bastoni likely to keep his place.
In goal, Chivu may revisit his seasonal alternation between Josep Martinez and Yann Sommer, keeping competition high without compromising stability.
The approach underlines a clear strategy from the head coach. Inter intend to maintain intensity and quality through smart rotation, protecting key players while preserving rhythm as the European campaign gathers pace.
