Floriana will discover their UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round opponents later today after UEFA confirmed the shortlist of clubs they could face in the draw.
The Maltese champions have been grouped with seven possible opponents from across Europe, setting up the prospect of a challenging start to their continental campaign.
Among the clubs Floriana could be drawn against are Irish champions Shamrock Rovers, Finnish side KuPS Kuopio, Gibraltar’s Lincoln Red Imps, Latvian champions Riga FC, Estonian outfit FC Flora Tallinn, Northern Ireland’s Larne FC and Welsh champions The New Saints.
Several of the potential opponents have extensive experience in European competition, with Shamrock Rovers, Riga FC and Lincoln Red Imps all having featured regularly in UEFA tournaments in recent years.
Floriana, who secured the Maltese Premier League title last season, will be hoping for a favourable draw as they bid to progress beyond the opening qualifying round and continue their European journey.

The UEFA Champions League First Qualifying Round draw is scheduled to take place at 16:00 CET, with the Greens set to learn the identity of their first opponents on the road to Europe’s premier club competition.
Supporters will now be eagerly awaiting the outcome as Floriana prepare to represent Malta on the European stage once again.
