Dembélé vows PSG will go for three in a row after back-to-back Champions League glory

PSG winger Ousmane Dembélé has promised supporters that the club will chase a third Champions League title in a row next season, after thousands of fans gathered beneath the Eiffel Tower on Sunday to celebrate the club’s back-to-back European triumphs.

“Thanks to all of you for your support. We’ll be back next year with the third one,” Dembélé told the crowd, as supporters danced to Daft Punk’s One More Time while the players paraded the trophy they won against Arsenal on Saturday.

The atmosphere was joyful after early rain gave way to bright sunshine, a sharp contrast to the night before, when trouble flared across the French capital following the final whistle, leaving more than 200 people injured and one person dead.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi called on fans to keep celebrations peaceful. “Celebrate calmly tonight. Protect our city, that’s very important,” he said.

The PSG squad visited the Champ de Mars, the vast open space beneath the Eiffel Tower, before heading to the Élysée Palace for an official meeting with President Emmanuel Macron.

Among the crowds, fan Mathias Oumraou said he simply had to be there after what he described as the best night of his life in Paris. Fellow supporter Cheyenne Barbachou admitted she could barely get her head around the club winning it two years running. “It’s incredible,” she said.
