Aleksander Ceferin and his colleagues once again rejected the idea of establishing a new competition, and then released a statement.
“In line with the unity of European football, UEFA and the participating football actors have once again unanimously rejected the rationale of projects such as the ESL (Super League) during today’s discussion. The participants were surprised to learn of the claims of the general manager of A22 Sports that this company does not represent any club in any capacity, including the three clubs that continue to openly support the project,” the announcement reads.
Let’s remind you that Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus were among the 12 clubs that announced the formation of the Super League in April, but after the reaction of fans and the public throughout Europe, that plan soon collapsed.
