New surprise: Tunisia stumbles at the start of the Africa Cup of Nations

The opening days of the prestigious tournament featuring the best national teams from Africa brought about intriguing matches and surprising results.

The standout upset of the day in the first round of Group E was orchestrated by the Namibian national team, who clinched a narrow 1-0 victory over Tunisia at the “Amadou Gon Kulibali” stadium.

Despite being participants in the previous FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Kadri’s selected squad, the Tunisian national team, found themselves at times on the back foot, lacking the finishing touch in crucial situations.

Namibia, not overly focused on ball possession, executed their attacks more directly. The victorious team appeared simple yet organized in their approach.

The decisive moment came in the 88th minute when Betuel Muzeu delivered a cross, and Orlando Pirates’ striker Deon Hotto, displaying excellent timing, headed the ball into the opponent’s net, securing Namibia’s victory.
