The coach of Bayern Munich, Tomas Tuchel, spoke about the reasons why Sadio Mane decided to leave the team after only one season.
In October of last year, Sadio Mane was the second player in the selection for the ‘Golden Ball’, right behind Karim Benzema, and now, less than a year later, he would live to become redundant at Bayern.
After playing brilliant games for Liverpool and the Senegal national team, he moved to the Bundesliga, where he scored 12 goals in 38 matches.
The physical confrontation with Liro Sane, after the defeat by Manchester City in the Champions League, was the ‘trigger’ for what followed now – his departure from the club.
Bayern will certainly get more money from Al Nasr than they paid Liverpool to bring him, while Sadio will earn more annually in Saudi Arabia than was the case in Liverpool and Bayern together.
“He didn’t have an easy year. He was not able to contribute as much as we and he had hoped.” said the CEO of Bayern
Team coach Tomas Tuchel said that the parting was friendly.
“We had a long hug and we both agreed that we don’t like what is happening now, but we think that his departure is the best solution to the situation.” Tuchel said.
