According to multiple sources, Amorim is close to becoming Milan’s next head coach. Both Gazzetta dello Sport and The Athletic reported that the 41-year-old had moved to the top of Milan’s shortlist for the San Siro role, while Portuguese outlet A Bola stated that negotiations between the two parties are already at an advanced stage.

A Bola and Corriere dello Sport further report that Milan’s proposal is worth between €3 million and €4 million per season. Corriere dello Sport suggests the deal is valued at around €3.5 million annually, while A Bola adds that the contract would also include an option for a third season.

Amorim was appointed Manchester United manager in November 2024 but was dismissed on January 5, 2026, after 14 months in charge.

Milan had previously explored the possibility of appointing former Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner and United States national team coach Mauricio Pochettino. However, Amorim is now understood to be the frontrunner to replace Massimiliano Allegri and lead the Serie A club into the 2026-27 season.
