Lazio appoint Baroni as new manager

Lazio announced on Tuesday that they have appointed Marco Baroni, the former coach of Hellas Verona, as their new manager.

Baroni, who is 60 years old, will officially take charge on July 1. The club has confirmed that he has signed a multi-year contract; however, no further details have been disclosed. Baroni’s arrival comes after Igor Tudor resigned from the position last week, having only served for less than three months. Tudor had taken over from Maurizio Sarri in March. Baroni and Verona mutually agreed to part ways on Monday, paving the way for his new role at Lazio.

Lazio achieved a seventh-place finish in Serie A during the previous season, which granted them qualification for the Europa League. Baroni successfully led Verona to survival in the previous campaign and has previously managed Lecce, Frosinone, and Benevento in the top tier of Italian football.
