Juventus have renewed contact with Aston Villa regarding Emiliano Martínez as they continue their search for a new goalkeeper. The move has become a possibility again following Aston Villa’s progress towards signing Parma and Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, potentially creating a path for Martínez to leave the Premier League club.
Juventus had previously explored the possibility of signing the Argentina international but stepped back because of Aston Villa’s asking price. The Bianconeri have now returned to the negotiations, although the transfer remains complicated by financial considerations and Martínez’s age.
The Argentine goalkeeper is contracted to Aston Villa until 2029, but his future has remained uncertain after previous attempts to secure a move away from the club. Juventus are reportedly prepared to make a lower offer, while Villa have been looking for a fee closer to their valuation.
The situation has been influenced by Villa’s pursuit of Suzuki. With the Japanese goalkeeper now close to moving to Birmingham, Martínez could potentially be allowed to leave, although Villa’s plans do not automatically guarantee that the Argentine will be sold.
For Juventus, Martínez remains an attractive option because of his experience at both club and international level. However, the Italian side must decide whether the financial commitment is justified, particularly given the goalkeeper’s age and ongoing fitness concerns.
The goalkeeper situation could therefore develop quickly in the coming days, with Suzuki’s arrival at Aston Villa potentially triggering further movement involving Martínez and Juventus.
