Juventus coach Motta praises the varied offensive approach in the triumph over Udinese.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta emphasized the significance of his team’s diverse group of forwards following their 2-0 triumph against Udinese, which ended a three-game winless streak and preserved their unbeaten record in Serie A. Motta commended the performance of midfielder Khephren Thuram, who caused Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okeye to score an own goal, giving Juve the lead in the first half. Motta was also pleased to have Teun Koopmeiners back in the starting lineup after his injury.
Additionally, Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz played a crucial role in the victory, with his shot hitting the post before Nicola Savona made it 2-0. Motta expressed his admiration for Thuram, describing him as a well-rounded player who excels in both defense and attack. The coach highlighted the importance of having diverse players like Yildiz and Koopmeiners to create different in-game situations that trouble defenders.
Juve has faced obstacles due to injuries to key players like defender Gleison Bremer, who recently sustained a cruciate ligament rupture and will be sidelined for most of the season. According to Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, the club’s main focus in the January transfer window will be to find a replacement for the defense rather than a striker. However, Motta stated that he is not currently thinking about new signings. “When the time comes, we will collectively make the best decision for the team,” he remarked as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League match against Lille.
“Today, we must savour this significant victory and recuperate for Tuesday.”
