Fiorentina secured their first victory in four Serie A matches with a narrow 1-0 win over struggling Lecce, thanks to a first-half header from Robin Gosens.
The German defender broke the deadlock just nine minutes into the match, rising high to meet a deep cross from Brazilian full-back Dodô with a powerful header.
Despite their early lead, Fiorentina failed to capitalize on further opportunities to extend their advantage. In the 73rd minute, Lucas Beltrán had the chance to seal the win from the penalty spot following a handball in the box, but his effort struck the post. The Argentine forward was unlucky again in the closing stages when another attempt rattled the woodwork.
With this win, Fiorentina climbed to sixth place in the Serie A table, while Lecce remained in 16th, just four points above the relegation zone and winless in their last four outings.
