Como move back into European places with Lecce win

Como bounced back from two league defeats with a comfortable 3-0 away win against Lecce. It was their third straight win against Lecce since returning to Serie A.

The opening stages were quiet, but Como soon took control. After a few early shots, they went ahead in the 21st minute when Nico Paz scored from long range. His shot took a small deflection and beat Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone. It was Paz’s sixth league goal of the season.

Lecce offered very little in response and managed only one shot on target before half-time. Their manager, Eusebio Di Francesco, was sent off after arguing with the referee, which made things harder for the home side.

Lecce tried to improve after the break and pushed for an equaliser. Youssef Maleh went close after a free-kick, but his effort missed the target. Como defended well during this spell and then scored again against the run of play. Jacobo Ramón made it 2-0 by tapping in at the far post after Lecce failed to clear a free-kick.

The second goal took the fight out of Lecce. Como sealed the win in the 75th minute when Anastasios Douvikas finished calmly after a clever pass from Paz.

The win moved Como back into the European places, sitting sixth for now. Lecce remain four points above the relegation zone but face a tough run of matches ahead.
