Como sent out a huge message in the Serie A race for Europe after thrashing Pisa 5-0 to consolidate fourth place and move three points clear of Juventus.
Cesc Fabregas’ side made a flying start and went ahead after just seven minutes when Diao returned to the scoresheet with a left-footed finish across goal. Pisa tried to respond through Tramoni, but Como struck again on the half hour as Douvikas doubled the lead and effectively put the match beyond the visitors.

The home side suffered a setback when Jesus Rodriguez was forced off through injury, yet his replacement made an immediate impact. After Como had gone close twice, Baturina found the net early in the second half with a powerful strike from the edge of the area to make it 3-0.
With a fifth consecutive win in sight, Como eased off slightly and allowed Pisa to grow into the game, although the visitors saw two goals disallowed through Stojilkovic and Meister. Fabregas’ changes then helped his side regain full control in the closing stages.
Alberto Moreno set up Nico Paz for the fourth goal in the 75th minute, before Perrone completed the scoring six minutes later after an assist from substitute Kühn.
It was a dominant display from Como, who continue to dream of a Champions League place. The result leaves them three points ahead of Juventus and, for the time being, six clear of Roma. Pisa, meanwhile, remain bottom on 18 points and edge ever closer to relegation to Serie B.
