Massimiliano Allegri has reached an agreement with Napoli, just days after being sacked by AC Milan following their failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Interestingly, Allegri is once again stepping into a role previously held by Antonio Conte, much like he did at Juventus back in 2014.
As for how Napoli might line up under their new boss, it looks likely he’ll switch to a 4-3-3 formation, moving away from the back three he had been using at both Juventus and Milan in recent years. This shape would make the most of attacking wide players like David Neres and Alisson Santos, while also getting the best out of a fit again Kevin De Bruyne, who struggled with injury in his first season at the club. De Bruyne is expected to play as a creative midfielder alongside playmaker Lobotka.
Scott McTominay is also set to be a key figure, offering the kind of physical, box to box presence that Allegri tends to favour, similar to the role Rabiot played at Milan earlier this season.

At the back, the likely defensive pairing would be Rrahmani and Buongiorno, with Di Lorenzo at right back and Gutierrez pushing for a starting spot on the left.
Up front, Rasmus Hojlund is expected to lead the line, with further striker options still to be resolved, including the futures of Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Lucca, who returns from his loan at Nottingham Forest.
