Santi Mina sentenced to 4 years in prison for rape!

Santi Mina, a former Celta football player from Vigo, was sentenced today to four years in prison after he was found guilty of sexual abuse.

The Spanish footballer will have to serve his sentence if his appeal is not accepted.

Santi (26) was acquitted of charges of sexual aggression, which is related to intimidation or violence against the victim.

Celta announced that the Spanish striker has been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of his appeal. The club also initiated disciplinary proceedings against Mina.

The state prosecutor asked for eight years in prison for Santiago, while the victims’ lawyers asked for nine and a half years.

Ibiza lower league player David Goldar has been acquitted of complicity.

A woman accused Santi Mina of raping a camper in 2017, where she went with Goldar. Her lawyer said Goldar had done nothing to prevent the rape.

Both football players claim that she agreed to have sexual relations.

The judgment of the lower court may be appealed to the Supreme Court of Spain.

Mina played for Valencia in 2017 and moved to Celta two years later.
