Robinho on an international warrant

Robinho, a Brazilian footballer, is accused of raping a 23-year-old Albanian girl in 2013 in a nightclub.
During the trial of the Brazilian football player and his friend Ricardo Falco, the Supreme Court in Milan passed a final verdict on serving a 9-year prison sentence, and on that occasion, a warrant was requested for the extradition of the perpetrator.

Prosecutors of the Italian Supreme Court have submitted a request to the Italian Ministry of Justice, and the Ministry must now send a notification to the Brazilian authorities.

Due to the constitution that Brazil has, Brazilian citizens cannot be extradited to Italy, and Robinho and his friend in that case cannot be extradited to the Italian authorities.

In the event of an international arrest warrant being issued, the Brazilian footballer could be arrested if he happened to leave Brazil and find himself in one of the countries that have an extradition agreement with Italy.

During his stay in the Premier League in 2009, the Brazilian was also under investigation by the police for alleged rape in a nightclub in Leeds, after which he was released on bail after denying guilt and after questioning.
