The former president of the European Football Union (UEFA) Michel Platini could succeed Noel le Graet as the president of the French Football Federation (FFF).
The German news reported that representatives of the FFF spoke with the former president of UEFA.
French radio “RMC Sport” claims that French President Emmanuel Macron asked him if he is interested in being the new president of the Football Association of this country.
The 67-year-old Frenchman was the president of UEFA from January 2007 to December 2015. Half a year ago, he was acquitted of fraud before the Federal Court in Bellinzona, Switzerland.
Former UEFA president and former FIFA president Sepp Blatter were accused of corruption. Blatter is accused of illegally enabling FIFA to pay Platini two million Swiss francs in 2011.
In 2015, FIFA banned Platini and Blatter from football for eight years, but their sentences were later reduced to six years.
