Palomino acquitted of doping charges!

Atalanta footballer Jose Luis Palomino, who has been suspended since July after a positive doping test, has been acquitted, the Italian club announced today.

I am very happy. “I had a lot of faith in justice, and now I’m just thinking about getting back to work with my teammates,” said Palomino.

After hearing from the players last week, the court of the Italian Anti-Doping Agency (Nado) informed the Bergamo club to reject the charges.

The 32-year-old footballer can thus play again, two rounds before the break in Serie A, due to the World Cup in Qatar.

Palomino, who played for Metz and Ludogorets before joining Atalanta, tested positive for nandrolone, an anabolic steroid, in July, before the start of the championship.

He was immediately temporarily suspended, and he pleaded before the Italian anti-doping authorities that he had accidentally taken a banned product.

Palomino has been with Atlanta since 2017, and last season he played 45 games and scored two goals.
