Nottingham Forest have appointed Vitor Pereira as their fourth head coach of the season, following the dismissal of Sean Dyche.
Dyche was relieved of his duties on Thursday after 114 days in charge. He won six of his 18 Premier League matches after succeeding Ange Postecoglou, whose tenure lasted eight league games and 39 days without a victory. Postecoglou had replaced Nuno Espirito Santo, who departed after three league fixtures amid reported tensions with club owner Evangelos Marinakis concerning transfer activity.
Pereira previously worked under Marinakis during a five month spell at Olympiacos FC in 2015. He most recently managed Wolverhampton Wanderers, having been appointed in December 2024. Pereira guided Wolves to Premier League safety last season before leaving the club in November after a difficult start to the current campaign.
Forest are currently three points above the Premier League relegation zone with 12 matches remaining. Their most recent outing ended in a 0 to 0 draw at home against Wolves, who sit at the bottom of the table. The club have already exited the FA Cup this season.
Attention now turns to European competition, with Forest set to travel to Fenerbahce SK next Thursday for the first leg of their UEFA Europa League knockout play off. They will then return to the City Ground for a Premier League fixture against Liverpool FC, who currently occupy sixth place in the table.
Pereira takes charge at a decisive stage of the season, with Forest seeking stability and results in both domestic and European competitions.
