CARRICK PRIVILEGED AFTER TAKING OVER THE BENCH OF UNITED: I learned a lot from Ole!

Michael Carrick took over the Manchester United bench after the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and here is what he said.

United’s players are in bad shape. For a long time, there was speculation about the departure of the Norwegian from the position of strategist, which happened after the 4: 1 defeat by Watford.

The management lost patience and replaced Solskjaer, while they appointed Carrick as his successor, who was the assistant coach until this moment.

On this occasion, the new coach of the “Red Devils” said.

– In accordance with what I was told, I am focused on preparing for the next game and I will give my maximum. I don’t think about how long I’ll be here. An important match awaits us. I will do the job the way I know, I believe in myself and my team and players – Carrick said before the Champions League duel against Villarreal, so he continued.

– The most important thing for the fans is the result. Villarreal is a very good team. We know each other well. The game is important for both teams, but we are looking forward to it – the new United coach added.

The former player of the “Red Devils” during the era of Sir Alex Ferguson still does not know how long he will perform the duties of a manager, since for now he is only a temporary solution in that position.

– I am ready to be in this position for as long as necessary, a game, two games… I am not thinking about it now, only the next match is important – said Carrick.

As he states, he did not know until Sunday that Solskjaer would be fired, and on this occasion he thanked him and wished him luck in his future career.

– I didn’t know anything before it was officially announced, I don’t think anyone did. Ole was already at the training center. It was awkward to organize a little training, to talk to the players. But it went well. I worked with Solskjaer for a long time, we have similar beliefs. I have a clear plan in my head about what I want to do and how. This is a challenge of course, it is a great responsibility – said the Norwegian’s successor and added.

– I worked with Solskjaer for three years, and I have known him for much longer. It was hard for me when he lost his job. We understand that the result means everything. I want to thank him, I learned a lot from him, I wish him all the best – Carrick concluded.
