Inter Miami soccer player Lionel Messi won the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time, and after this recognition he points out that team trophies are more important to him.
Winning the title at the World Cup in Qatar, as well as trophies with Barcelona, are more important to him.
“The Ballon d’Or is a very valuable award, but I’ve always said that the team awards are the most important to me. I was lucky enough to win every possible trophy with Barcelona, but also with the national team. And that’s the most important thing for me,” said Messi and added:
“To finish a career in Europe with all these trophies is something incredible”.
The Argentine won the award for the best football player in the world in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021 and 2023.
