Sliema beat Marsa easily to advance in the Meridianbet FA Trophy

Sliema Wanderers had an easy one to get through to the quarter final of the Meridianbet FA Trophy after beating Marsa 4-0.

Sliema created their first opportunity in the 26th minute when Mohamed Awad’s cross was headed by Henrique Murillo, who beat Marsa’s goalkeeper Amara Sylla with a good shot. Three minutes later, the Wanderers doubled their lead when Mohammed Awad’s well-struck shot ended up in the net after bouncing off the post. The Blues extended their lead to 3-0 in the 41st minute when Wescley’s cross was headed in by Gustavo Alcino.

As the second half began, Sliema scored their third goal. Wescley’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper but the new acquisition Kyrian Nwoko scored from the rebound. Under the guidance of Paul Zammit, the team secured their victory with a fourth goal in the 76th minute after another defensive error, with Kyrian Nwoko scoring again from close range.
