Portuguese national team player Matheus Nunes is a new Wolverhampton player after joining Sporting Lisbon, the club has confirmed.
Nunes arrives in the ranks of the English Premier League in a transfer worth 38 million pounds plus 4.2 million pounds of potential bonus, which is a new record for Wolverhampton when it comes to the amount of the transfer, Sky Sport reported.
The previous record was held by another Portuguese, Fabio Silva, who arrived from Porto two years ago for 35 million pounds.
The Portuguese played the previous three seasons for Sporting Lisbon, for which he played 76 matches and scored seven goals in all competitions.
He made eight appearances in the national team jersey and scored one goal.
Nunes is Wolverhampton’s third signing of the summer, following the previous arrivals of Gonzalo Guedes from Valencia and Nathan Collins from Burnley. Source: Beta
