This portal can reveal exclusively that the much awaited draws for the Malta Premier League will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd at a so far undisclosed location.
The league has been reduced to 12 teams from 14 and will see newcomers Zabbar St Patrick and Melita back in the fold after many years in the lower divisions. The format is modelled on the South American Clausura with various stages and playoff deciders.
Sources who spoke to this portal explained that the organization of matches will all be done by the MPL with the MFA providing referees and other support.
Malta Premier League Chairman Dr Joseph Muscat has been in the news lately with the ongoing charges in court over the Vitals corruption case. It is not yet known if he will be attending the draws in person.
