Floriana have announced the signing of Moroccan defender Yassine Jbira ahead of the new Malta Premier League season.
The 30-year-old joins the Greens after most recently playing for Bahraini side Al-Ettifaq Club. He has signed a one-year contract with Floriana, keeping him at the club until June 2027.
Jbira mainly plays as a left-back but is also capable of operating on the left side of midfield and in central defence, giving Floriana added versatility at the back.
The Moroccan began his career in the youth ranks of Spanish club Almería before returning to his home country, where he represented clubs including FUS Rabat, Olympique Khouribga, Moghreb Tétouan and COD Meknès.
He also represented Morocco at youth international level, featuring for the country’s Under-17 and Under-20 national teams.
Jbira becomes the latest addition to Floriana’s squad as the club continues to strengthen ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with the Greens also preparing for their UEFA Conference League qualifying tie against FC Drita.
