Mosta have moved back to the top of the VBET Malta Premier standings after earning a 1-1 draw against Marsaxlokk.
Mosta made a strong start and took the lead after just five minutes. Geoffrey Acheampong delivered a precise pass to Pedro da Silva, who managed to get the ball past Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi. However, the Brazilian was forced off shortly afterwards following an injury.

Marsaxlokk responded and levelled the match with their first serious opportunity. Dodo Soares created the chance for Rasmus Linden, who found enough space to shoot past Mosta goalkeeper David Udoh Akpan.
The hosts continued to look dangerous, with Dodo Soares coming close with a header before the break. Marsaxlokk then hit the post shortly after the restart through Leandro Aguirre and continued to put pressure on Mosta.
Mosta’s defence held firm during the final stages, while Marsaxlokk goalkeeper Mafoumbi made two important saves from substitute Wanderson Pinheiro in added time.
The 1-1 result means Mosta leave the National Stadium with a valuable point and return to the top of the league standings. Prince Afriyie of Mosta was named Player of the Match.
