Ħamrun Spartans have reached an agreement with Brazilian striker Lucas Villela, Malta Sport can confirm. The forward even trained with the squad on Friday, following this portal’s report earlier in the week linking him with a move to the Spartans.
Villela is no stranger to Maltese football. Last season he joined Hibernians and made an immediate impact, scoring 11 goals in 15 games in the opening round and was the YoHealth Malta Premier League’s top scorer until then. His impressive form attracted interest from abroad, and in January he departed for Kuwaiti side Al-Fahaheel SC.
Now Villela returned to Malta, this time with Ħamrun Spartans, and his signing sends a clear message about the club’s ambitions.

After a frustrating season in which they failed to win any silverware, the Spartans’ administration appears determined to strengthen significantly, bringing in top-quality players as they prepare for both European and domestic challenges in the season ahead.
