Brazilian attacking midfielder Marcelo Cauã de Aguiar Alves, better known as Marcelinho, has officially joined Ħamrun Spartans after first being revealed as a transfer rumour by Malta Sport in June.
The 23-year-old arrives in Malta after spending the first half of 2026 with América Football Club (RJ), having previously played for Pouso Alegre, Comercial-SP, Sobradinho and Hercílio-SC Under-20s in Brazil.
A left-footed attacking midfielder, Marcelinho is also comfortable playing on the right wing, giving Ħamrun Spartans another creative option in the final third.
