Gżira United have secured the services of Trustin van ’t Loo in another Malta Sport exclusive, as the Maroons look to strengthen their squad after a difficult opening to the Malta Premier campaign.
Van ’t Loo becomes the latest attacking addition for Gżira following the arrival of Mohammed Fofana, with the club looking to inject greater quality and depth into their squad.
The 22-year-old Dutch-Nigerian attacker can operate on the wing and in more advanced attacking positions, offering Gżira another option in the final third.
Van ’t Loo developed through the Dutch football system, having been associated with SC Heerenveen and Go Ahead Eagles, and now takes on a new challenge in Maltese football.
His arrival comes at an important time for Gżira. After three matchdays, the Maroons have failed to collect a single point and currently sit bottom of the Malta Premier table, level on zero points with promoted Birżebbuġa St Peter’s.
Gżira will therefore hope their latest recruitment can provide a much-needed boost as they look to turn their fortunes around and climb away from the foot of the table.
The signing of Van ’t Loo, together with Fofana, shows the club’s determination to strengthen before the transfer window closes.
Malta Sport understands that the deal has been concluded, with Van ’t Loo set to join his new teammates.
