Floriana go into this match knowing that a draw will be enough to secure 1st place in the Closing Round. After that, they will have to wait and see where Ħamrun Spartans finish to find out whether they will play a Finalissima or if there will be a final four.
Valletta could also influence this outcome. They are just one point behind Ħamrun and Marsaxlokk, so if they finish 2nd, a final four is still possible. They are unbeaten in their last seven matches and will be aiming to win today to stay in the race, hoping the other teams drop points.
Although Valletta have had the better results in this fixture this season, winning one and drawing the other two, both 0–0, Floriana are in excellent form. They are unbeaten in 14 matches and look determined to avoid the disappointment of the past two seasons, where they came close to winning the league but missed out at the end.
Valletta will be without Thaylor Aldama, who was sent off in the 63rd minute against Naxxar Lions in their last match.
