YoHealth Malta Premier – FINALISSIMA
Floriana……………2
Marsaxlokk…………1
A controversial goal from substitute Kenan Dervisagic in added time gave Floriana a dramatic 2-1 victory over Marsaxlokk in the Finalissima, as the Greens were crowned Maltese champions for a record 27th time.
Marsaxlokk were the better side in a quiet first half and went into the break deservedly ahead, with Rasmus Linden lobbing the ball over goalkeeper Cioletti on 36 minutes after being played in by Corbalan.
Coach Daniel Portela made changes on 54 minutes and they paid off immediately. Two minutes later, Federico Varela drove a precise low shot into the net to level things up.
Floriana continued to press and the winner came deep into added time. From a Zammit Lonardelli throw in, substitute Dervisagic bundled the ball home to send the Greens wild. Marsaxlokk protested strongly, claiming the ball had been handled, but after consultation with the FVS the goal was allowed to stand.

Marsaxlokk almost snatched a dramatic equaliser on 100 minutes but Mihana’s shot passed across the face of goal with nobody able to turn it in.
