Balzan continued their impressive start to the season by defeating Birżebbuġa St Peter’s 3-0, recording their second consecutive victory. The result came in a meeting between two newly promoted sides.
Andrew Cohen’s team took control from the opening stages and went ahead after 13 minutes. Valentino Kuach Yuel rounded the goalkeeper before calmly finishing into an empty net.
Balzan doubled their advantage shortly after the half-hour mark. Yuel turned provider this time, finding Oluwatobiloba Awosanya, who finished from inside the area to make it 2-0.
Birżebbuġa struggled to create a response after the break, while Balzan continued to threaten. Their pressure eventually produced a third goal in the 67th minute, with Lucas Macula getting the final touch from an Awosanya corner.
The result gives Balzan another three points and a clean sheet, while Birżebbuġa remain without a point after four matches in the VBet Malta Premier.
