maltasport.mt can confirm that Gudja Utd and Naxxar Lions are the two Premier League Clubs that have decided to ‘throw the towel’ already this season. Both Clubs did not even dare to apply for the UEFA license for the current season
The Malta Football Association has received 12 out of 14 Premier Division clubs applying for a UEFA Club License by yesterday’s deadline.
The 12 Clubs that applied for the license are Balzan FC, Birkirkara FC, Floriana FC, Gżira United FC, Ħamrun Spartans FC, Hibernians FC, Marsaxlokk FC, Mosta FC, Santa Lucia FC, Sirens FC, Sliema Wanderers FC, and Valletta FC. All of these are hopeful they can make it to the 2024/25 competitions.
The Association also received applications for a UEFA Club License from three of seven clubs that this season are participating in the Women’s League.These are Birkirkara FC, Hibernians FC, and Swieqi United FC.
