Malta international Alexander Satariano is set to join Sliema Wanderers, bringing an end to weeks of speculation surrounding the forward’s future.
The 24-year-old became a free agent on 1 July following his departure from Greek side Athens Kallithea, where he spent the 2025–26 campaign. An agreement with the Wanderers is now understood to be close, with an official announcement expected shortly.
The move would mark a return to familiar surroundings for Satariano, who previously represented Sliema during the early stages of his senior career. He initially joined the Blues on loan from St Andrews before completing a permanent transfer in 2020.
Satariano later moved abroad to join Italian side Frosinone, while also spending time on loan with Pergolettese and Balzan. He returned to Malta to represent Birkirkara, where he became an important member of the squad before moving to Athens Kallithea in the summer of 2025.
Standing at 1.84 metres, Satariano operates primarily as a centre-forward and would provide Sliema with another physical and experienced option in attack. He has also established himself within the Malta national team set-up, earning 47 senior international appearances.
His expected arrival would represent a significant addition for Sliema as the club continues strengthening its squad ahead of the new domestic campaign.
After several weeks of discussions and speculation, Satariano now appears ready to complete his return to the Wanderers.
