Promising young Maltese talent Mattias Gatt Dimech Debono is set to continue his football journey with Luxol St Andrews, as the player is expected to complete his move to the club.

The Floriana academy product will take on a new challenge after spending 13 years with the Greens, where he developed through the club’s youth ranks and regularly wore the captain’s armband in his age group.
Gatt Dimech Debono has long been regarded as one of the more promising players to emerge from the Floriana academy. His development also included regular football with Sportland and experience with Siculo Leonzio from the age of six to 15, giving him further exposure during an important stage of his growth.
Several clubs are understood to have shown interest in the player, but Luxol St Andrews is considered the best option for his next step. The club is expected to offer him the opportunity to train directly with the senior squad while continuing his development within a competitive football environment.

At this stage, the priority remains his growth, with Luxol seen as a platform where he can continue to mature technically, physically and tactically.

The player is expected to complete the move shortly, opening a new chapter in his young career after a long spell with Floriana.
For Gatt Dimech Debono, this represents a fresh adventure and another step forward, with the decision taken together with his representatives as he looks to continue progressing in Maltese football.
