Luxol St. Andrews FC has officially announced the appointment of Marko Rajic as Head Senior Coach, signalling a significant milestone in the club’s long-term sporting project and ambitions for the seasons ahead.
A highly respected UEFA ‘A’ Elite licensed coach, Rajic brings with him more than 23 years of coaching experience across both youth and senior football. His appointment reflects the club’s commitment to building a competitive and sustainable future rooted in identity, continuity and player development.
For the past nine years, Rajic has played a pivotal role within the Luxol St. Andrews Academy, serving as Technical Coordinator while also leading the club’s Under-15 side. In his role as Technical Coordinator, he has overseen the club’s football philosophy and development structure across all competitive age groups from Under-15 to Under-21 level, helping establish a clear pathway for young players progressing through the academy system.

Under his guidance, Luxol’s youth teams have enjoyed considerable success, including a historic Section A League and Knock-Out double at Under-15 level during the 2023/24 season.
Before joining Luxol, Rajic gained valuable experience at Ħamrun Spartans’ School of Excellence and built a strong reputation in Serbia through coaching roles with Sloga FC and Jagodina FC. During his time there, he contributed to the development of Serbian international goalkeeper Predrag Rajković.
At the heart of Luxol St. Andrews’ long-term strategy remains a renewed and uncompromising focus on youth development. The club intends to continue investing heavily in its academy structure and player pathway system, ensuring that local talent is given a genuine opportunity to transition into senior football and become the foundation of the first team in the years ahead.
“I am honoured to continue my journey with Luxol St. Andrews FC at such an exciting moment for the club,” said Rajic. “The ambition here is evident, and I look forward to working closely with the players, staff and academy setup to build a team capable of competing at the highest level of Maltese football.”
Luxol Sports Club Chairman Jason Falzon and St. Andrews FC Vice-President Capt. Nigel James Dunkerley also welcomed the appointment, emphasising the club’s wider vision for the future.
“Marko’s appointment embodies everything this club represents — ambition, identity and belief in the development of young players,” they stated. “Over the coming seasons, we are committed to building a squad capable of competing against any team in Maltese football, while continuing to strengthen our investment in youth development.”
Rajic will immediately begin preparations for the new campaign, focusing on player recruitment, pre-season planning and the integration of academy prospects into the senior squad environment.
The club now looks ahead with optimism as it embarks on a new chapter, welcoming supporters, partners and the wider football community to be part of its journey forward.
