St Andrews FC has announced the appointment of Capt. Nigel James Dunkerley as the club’s new President.
A former Vice-President of the club, Capt. Dunkerley succeeds Matthew Fenech and paid tribute to his predecessor for guiding the club through a challenging period and strengthening its ambitions on and off the pitch.
Leading a newly elected committee, Dunkerley described the presidency as a collective effort, stressing the importance of fresh ideas and teamwork in shaping the club’s future.
The new President outlined five key priorities: youth development, senior team progress, improved facilities, financial sustainability and strengthening the club’s identity.
“The Luxol Academy must remain the beating heart of this club” he said, pledging continued investment in the youth system and a clear pathway to senior football.
Dunkerley also emphasised the importance of reconnecting with the community and reaffirmed the club’s long-term ambition of returning to the Premier League.
“The Challenge League is not our destination, it is a station on the way,” he said.
He also promised further investment in Luxol Stadium and a stronger commercial strategy built on long-term partnerships and sustainable growth.
Capt. Dunkerley concluded by underlining the importance of collective leadership, saying that the club’s future success will depend on close collaboration between the committee, academy and wider community.
