Antoine Griezmann is heading to Major League Soccer after Orlando City confirmed they have signed the French striker, who will complete the current season with Atletico Madrid before making the move to the United States.
The 34-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the Florida club, with the option of a further season in 2028/29. Atletico confirmed that Griezmann travelled to Orlando, with the club’s blessing, during a two-day break granted to the first team squad in order to finalise the agreement.
Griezmann has been at Atletico since joining from Real Sociedad in July 2014 and has gone on to become the club’s all-time leading scorer, netting 211 goals in 488 appearances across ten seasons, surpassing the previous record of 173 set by club legend Luis Aragones. He also ranks as the fourth most capped player in the club’s history.

Orlando City owner Mark Wilf paid tribute to the Frenchman, describing him as one of the most gifted and influential players of his generation and saying his decision to join the club reflected their ambitions and values.
Before departing for America, Griezmann still has the chance to end his time at Atletico on a high, with the club still in contention for both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League this season.
