JOVIC REFUSED TO ENTER THE GAME, THE COACH JUSTIFED HIM: Here's why Luka didn't play!

The news that Serbian footballer Luka Jovic refused to play in the match against Verona caused a real storm in Italy.

Jovic saw off Fiorentina’s victory over Verona (2:0) from the bench.

The Italian media reported on Sunday that coach Vincenzo Italiano wanted to give him a chance in the second half, but the Serb refused to enter the game, so he sent Arturo Cabral into the game.

After the match, Fiorentina assistant coach Daniel Nicolini revealed what really happened on his team’s bench.

  • The choice of Kuame is simple. Verona plays man to man, we needed certain characteristics in attack. The choice is dictated by this. Jovic got hit in Istanbul, he tried but he wasn’t at 100 percent, he told us he wasn’t very good, so we preferred Cabral. I didn’t notice if he was warming up – said the Italian’s assistant Vicenza.
