Liverpool will aim to avoid going six games without a win under Jurgen Klopp as they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Monday.
The Reds managed to hold Arsenal to a 2-2 draw at Anfield in their last game, while Javi Gracia’s men suffered a crushing 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace.
Leeds, who currently sit in 16th place, just two points clear of the relegation zone, will be looking to bounce back after their disappointing loss to Palace. However, their defense has been leaky in recent games, conceding at least two goals in four of their last five matches.
While Gracia insists that Leeds can beat anyone on their day, Liverpool will prove to be a tough challenge. The Reds have failed to win any of their last five games and currently sit in eighth place. However, they have shown glimpses of their quality, particularly in the second half of their game against Arsenal, where they were unlucky not to come away with all three points.
Liverpool’s sole home defeat in the Premier League this season came against Leeds in October. However, Leeds have not beaten Liverpool at Elland Road in the Premier League since the 2000-01 season.
Both teams have injury concerns heading into the game. Leeds will be without Stuart Dallas and Tyler Adams due to thigh injuries, while Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Ibrahima Konate have missed a couple of training sessions this week, but are expected to be fit for the match.
Overall, Monday’s game promises to be an intriguing battle between two teams desperate for a win.
