Barcelona President Laporta Accepts Xavi Hernandez's Departure Proposal

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has confirmed that he has accepted Xavi Hernandez’s proposal to step down from the managerial role at the end of the season. Xavi, a club legend and the current coach, recently announced his decision to part ways with the club after the ongoing season.

“I accept this formula because Xavi suggested it, and he is a club legend—a person of integrity who loves Barcelona,” stated President Laporta.

Currently positioned third in La Liga, Barcelona faces an 11-point gap from table-toppers Girona. Despite the challenges in the domestic league, Laporta remains optimistic and stressed the importance of giving their all to contend for the Champions League.

“While the league may pose difficulties, it’s not yet lost, and we must fight until the end. Additionally, our focus is on putting forth our best effort to secure success in the Champions League,” emphasized the club president.

Barcelona is set to face Napoli in the round of 16 in the Champions League.
