Laporta: The club is not to blame for what happened, but it is responsible

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, said at a press conference that more than 30,000 Eintracht fans were at the “Camp Nou”.
In addition to Laporta, there was an employee in charge of club marketing who explained that out of 79,468 fans, 37,746 had a season ticket, while 34,435 tickets were sold.

As previously reported, 5,000 tickets were intended for German fans.

He said 1,500 tickets were sold at the box office and 23,427 online.

Laporta emphasized how the control mechanisms worked, and that the system rejected more than 27,000 attempts to buy tickets from Germany.

However, although the system refused to buy tickets, they did so through resale groups, and subscriptions were allegedly resold.

“The club is not to blame for what happened, but it is responsible. This must not happen again, the Club did not sell tickets to the Germans. We’ll do something. It is important to know who is entering the stadium. The ticket can be transferred, but it is important to know to whom “, said Lapotra.

Laporta said that they asked for the help of the Catalan police so that those organized groups could no longer act in this way.

“We have never done anything because some people make a living from it. And it is not forbidden to sell a ticket, we cannot put someone who sells in prison, but we can inform them “, added Laporta.
