Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has promised to sign Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and midfielder Rodri if he wins the club election on Sunday.
Riquelme made the announcement on Spanish television, holding up a Real Madrid shirt with Haaland’s name and the number nine on the back.
He also confirmed he would go after Rodri, the Spain international who has one year left on his contract at Manchester City.
Riquelme said that Rodri is exactly the type of player Real Madrid need and that if he becomes president, Rodri will be signing for the club. He added that he would sit down with Manchester City and Rodri’s representatives as early as next Monday to begin talks.

Regarding Haaland, Riquelme said the situation is simpler, as the Norwegian striker has a release clause in his contract and is keen on a move to Real Madrid.
