KLOPP ON CRITICISM: I didn't become a bad coach overnight

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp believes that he could not become a bad coach overnight and that this season the club from Anfield aims to secure a place that leads to the Champions League.

Liverpool is currently 10th in the Premier League table, 21 points behind first-placed Arsenal and 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, which leads them into the Champions League.

“I didn’t become a bad coach overnight. I was never as good as people said, but I’m not as bad as people might think,” said Klopp, BBC reported.

Last April, Klopp extended his contract until 2026, after arriving at Anfield in October 2015.

He has won every trophy with Liverpool, including the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2021.

“Last year it was tense, longer than we expected because who expects to make it to the final four? It was clear that this season would be difficult, but with fewer injuries we could easily have four or five points more. We are still not playing brilliantly, but we will be in the fight for the Champions League and it is a normal season. Imagine if we had won all four trophies last season and if I had said: ‘See you later’, you would have seen a different face saying it all. Nobody would listen,” Klopp said.

“It’s difficult, I’m sorry, but we’ll do our best, we have to get out of this and do it in a way that people won’t be able to wait to come to the stadium again. How you behave and how you deal with the situation in such moments also decides the future”, added the German coach.
