Klopp: The start as expected by United fans, we pushed but not well enough

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp was disappointed after the team from Anfield lost again, this time in the derby against Manchester United.

“The beginning of the match was exactly as everyone expected, as Manchester fans expected. They started a little more aggressively than us, which gave them the space to play the game they wanted. They scored a goal, which we had to defend differently, but that’s how it is with goals. In the second part of the first half, we were there, we caused them problems, we had some great chances,” said Klopp to the BBC after the match.

United took a 2:0 lead with goals from Sancho and Rashford before Salah set the final score in the 81st minute of the match.

“At halftime, we showed the players several situations and they started well, they had the desire, but then we conceded the second goal. Then we had to catch up and were always in a hurry and racing against time. We scored the goal we deserved in that period of the game and after that we did what we had to, we pushed, but I have to admit not well enough and that’s why we lost”, the German finished.
