Klopp about Gerrard: I don't need to call him before the game!

What he failed to do as a Liverpool player, Steven Gerrard, at the end of this season, has the opportunity to indirectly bring the title of champion of England to the former club.

Steven Gerrard, the coach of Aston Villa, must not lose at the Etihad against Manchester City, while Liverpool must beat Wolverhampton to be the new champion.

Reds coach Jurgen Klopp put himself in Gerard’s position and said that would be an additional motivation for him, but that he did not contact Steven.

I can only imagine how Gerrard feels if I put myself in his position. If I played a game that could help one of my former clubs, Borussia or Mainz, that would be an additional motivation for me. I don’t need to call him before the game at all; he will do his job as seriously as possible. “I didn’t call him, but probably everyone else from the club did,” said Klopp, and confirmed that Divock Origi, a striker who will move to Milan, will leave the club:

“He is a legend of Liverpool, one of the most important players I have worked with.” I expect him to receive a well-deserved and special farewell. When I think of him, I see important goals, injuries, ups and downs, but he is without a doubt our legend,” concluded the German expert.
