Juventus step up interest in free agent Franck Kessié

Juventus are reportedly considering a move for former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessié as they continue planning their squad for next season.

While the club’s main priorities remain signing a new goalkeeper and finding a replacement for Dušan Vlahović, the Bianconeri are also looking to strengthen their midfield with an experienced, physical presence.

Kessié has emerged as one of the leading candidates after becoming a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli on 30 June.

The Ivorian midfielder is said to be highly regarded by Juventus sporting director Frédéric Massara, who worked closely with him during their time together at AC Milan.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Kessié has made Juventus his preferred destination and is prepared to reject lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia in favour of a return to Serie A.

However, an agreement has yet to be reached between the two parties. Juventus’ initial offer of €3.5 million net per season reportedly falls short of the player’s salary expectations, with Kessié’s representatives hoping for improved terms.

The coming days are expected to be decisive, with the midfielder’s agent due in Italy to review the available offers and assess whether a deal with Juventus can be finalised.

Kessié is believed to be eager to return to Italian football, while Juventus continue to evaluate whether the former Milan star can become a key addition to their midfield.
