Liverpool beat Norwich 2-1 in the round of 16 of the FA Cup. Reds coach Jurgen Klopp had to make changes to the team, as he had a tight schedule.
They previously played against Chelsea in the EFL Cup. In that match, the club from Anfield celebrated after the handouts and penalties, which greatly influenced the meeting with Norwich.
– It was difficult because we played against a real Premier League team. We had to make as many as 10 changes due to the penalty series against Chelsea. It was a physically and mentally exhausting night for us, so we had to change a lot of things in order to have any chances at all – said Klopp, and then continued:
– It took us a while to get into the game. Norwich started better, but from a certain moment, when we managed to control the game, everything went well for us. We played as we had to, on easy and simple passes, we stretched them out on the field, and then we found a space, from where we created chances.
The German expert praised Minamino, who scored two goals in that match.
– Not only did he score two goals, but he also had several top football moves. Throughout the match, he was a constant threat to the opponent’s goal, he was agile and fast. He was technically at an extremely high level, and the wind that was blowing could not do anything to him. I am not surprised, I know how good he is, so I am glad that the wider audience can see it now – concluded Klopp.
