Jaap Stam, once one of the world’s finest defenders, is set to become the coach of a seventh-tier Dutch club.
As reported by local media, DOS Kampen will be the new team for the 51-year-old Jaap, who has been without a coaching position since parting ways with Cincinnati in 2021.
Interestingly, Kampen is the club where Stam took his first footballing steps before moving on to Zwolle, Cambuur, Willem II, PSV, Manchester United, Lazio, Milan, and Ajax during his illustrious playing career.
In terms of his coaching journey, Stam has managed the youth team of Ajax, as well as the first teams of Zwolle, Feyenoord, and the aforementioned Cincinnati. Now, the former Manchester United star is set to bring his wealth of experience back to the grassroots level with DOS Kampen.
