Aurelio de Laurentiis and the Italian Football Federation have come to an agreement. The successor to Mancini’s whip Luciano Spalletti.
After the sudden departure of Roberto Mancini, who went to the bench of Saudi Arabia, Italy was left without a coach, but Luciano Spalletti appeared as the only solution.
However, since he was still Napoli’s coach, i.e. had a contract, even though he left it, the president of Neapolitans, Aurelio de Laurentiis, demanded that the Football Association pay three million euros.
But the “Azzuri” reached an agreement and Napoli agreed on a new coach, Mancini’s successor, Luciano Spalletti.
He is the first choice of the Football Association and will sign a contract until 2026.
After the telephone conversation, Spalletti gave his consent to the president, Gabriele Gravina, to conclude the contract.
Spalletti left Napoli at the end of last season after winning the Scudetto, and now he will make his debut in September when the Italians continue qualifying for the European Championship.
Italy, European champions in 2021, failed to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, so Spalletti has a difficult task ahead of him.
